The Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Nairobi
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by your Safari Life Representative and transfer to your Nairobi Hotel.
Overnight at Tamarind Tree Hotel BB.
Nairobi (green city in the sun) is an attractive and growing city that stands on the edge of the Athi Plains and the gentle slopes of Limuru that rise in the Aberdares Mountains. It is an important business and social center with international hotels and a good selection of restaurants serving Indian, Chinese, French, Italian and other cuisine.
There is a national Museum and Snake Park, and an Arboretum with the finest collection of trees and shrubs in Eastern Africa. The McMillan Memorial Library has some excellent Africana among its 70,000 volumes.
Day 2
Naivasha
After breakfast you will depart by road via the Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha. Arrival will be in time for lunch at your lodge, the afternoon will be spent at leisure.
Dinner and overnight at Great Rift Valley Lodge LDBB.
Driving northwest from Nairobi through Limuru and then continuing down the escarpment and proceeding north across the floor of the Rift Valley one reaches the first of the Rift Lakes. Kenya’s seven Rift Valley lakes run from north to south on the map. All are the setting for magnificent bird-life. They are a necklace of glittering jewels along the floor of Africa where water is precious and sight of it is always rejuvenating.
Day 4
Depart to the Mara
Depart after breakfast by road to Masai Mara National Reserve. You will arrive in time for lunch at your Camp.
Afternoon game drive, dinner and overnight at Mara Intrepids Camp LDBB.
It is probably the most visited reserve in Kenya. It offers breathtaking views and an extraordinary density of animals including the “big five” and a wide variety of plains game.
An impressive feature is the annual migration of Wildebeest, Zebra and gazelle from the plains of the south – western Serengeti that cross the political borders and rivers to reach the Mara’s grasslands from late June, tracked by predators; lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and circled by vultures as their journey unfolds. The dramatic river crossings are a gruesome spectacle of survival of the fittest.
Day 7
Morning in the wild, evening at the beach
Early morning game drive, breakfast, lunch and transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Mombasa. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel located on the North Coast of Mombasa.
Dinner and overnight at Voyage Beach Resort (all inclusive)
The Kenya Coast consists of long stretches of white beaches fringed with coconut palms and casuarina trees, between coral headlands broken by occasional river creeks. Most of the coastline is protected by a coral reef half a mile out in the Indian Ocean. This allows for safe bathing and fascinating goggling and scuba diving. The coast forms a complete contrast to the rest of the country not only in climate and scenery but also in populace history.
